Join us for an interactive afternoon and explore the Richmond Low Water Demonstration Garden. Dawn Kooyumjian, UC Master Gardener Program Coordinator for Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, will present on the transformation of the Richmond Low Water Demonstration Garden, partnership with the City of Richmond, and overcoming barriers to create an eye-catching garden. A discussion on placemaking principles will be facilitated. In the garden, the UC Master Gardeners of Contra Costa County will cover topics such as garden design, native and Mediterranean low water plant adaptations, eradication of Bermuda grass, irrigation system, and educational features. An update on State water conservation ordinances (AB1572 and AB1573), EBMUD water supply, and new rebates will also be covered at the event.
